About Kesher

Kesher, the Hebrew word for "connection" is the campus program of the Union for Reform Judaism. Kesher serves Reform Jews and supports Reform chavurot (groups) on campuses through partnerships with all Reform congregations, Hillel, and other campus organizations such as the Israel on Campus Coalition. Kesher also consults with Union congregations and summer camps, as well as campus-based Hillel professionals to help them meet the needs of Reform college students. Kesher's  Taglit-Birthright programs are open to applicants who are ages 18-26 and do not need to be affiliated with a college campus in any way.

About the URJ

The Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) is the umbrella organization of Reform Jews. The URJ provides vision and leadership to Reform Jews and congregations on spiritual, ethical, social justice and management issues. It provides programmatic support to Reform Jewish congregations and offers opportunities for individual growth and identity that few congregations could provide by themselves, such as camps and Israel programs for youth, study kallot and North American and regional biennials

Because Kesher's Taglit-Birthright Israel program is a part of the Reform Movement, you can be sure that the experience embodies a spirit of inclusiveness, tolerance, and progressive thinking. The program welcomes eligible participants from all Jewish backgrounds as part of a trip community experience that is relaxed and always enjoyable. Learn More: Why Kesher?
